Florida teen arrested after video shows him wrestling fake alligator in mall

A high school student was arrested Monday after he was filmed fighting a fake alligator in a Florida mall.

A teenager — identified by police as Gianny Sosa-Hernandez — can be seen in the video, released by the Miami Dade Police Department, taking off his shirt and jumping over a barrier into the mall display before "attacking" the fake reptile.

MASSIVE ALLIGATOR IN FLORIDA SHOCKS MOTORISTS AS IT CROSSES BUSY HIGHWAY

The incident occurred on March 30 in the courtyard of the Falls Shopping Center in Miami Dade County, according to WPLG. The alligator cost $3,690 and was damaged in the alleged attack, reported CBS4 Miami, which posted a video of the scene Twitter.

In the video, Sosa-Hernandez is captured throwing the alligator into a nearby display pond and attempting a wrestling move that police called an R.K.O. Sosa-Hernandez is then seen turning the gator on its back and pinning it.

An R.K.O. is a move coined after WWE pro-wrestler Randy Orton that involves a person jumping into the air, grabbing the back of an opponent’s head and slamming their face into the mat as they fall back down.

The teen was reportedly charged with criminal mischief for the incident and was being held on $5,000 bond at a correctional facility in Miami-Dade County Monday.

According to ABC News, Sosa-Hernandez was identified by a witness who saw the video. After he was arrested Monday, the teenager allegedly confessed and apologized to police.

In a separate incident last week, Sosa-Hernandez was arrested after allegedly attempting to perform the same wrestling move on his principal Humberto Miret at Miami Southridge Senior High School.

In that case, Sosa-Hernandez faces charges of battery on a school official and interference with an educational institution. He was reportedly released without bond, according to WPLG.

Denmark Paying UN to Stem Migration From Africa

Denmark has announced a fresh cash injection for programs designed to stem the flows of African migration at their sources.

Funding totaling approximately $1.5 million (10 million DKK) will be directed to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) appeal for the Mediterranean route, according to a statement from Denmark's Foreign Ministry.

"Efforts are taking place in the countries of origin and transit of Algeria, Burkina Faso, Chad, Egypt, Ethiopia, Libya, Mali, Mauritania, Morocco, Niger, Senegal and Sudan and can help reduce further migration flows," the Foreign Ministry explains.

"Activities include information campaigns on risks and realistic outcomes of travel, strengthening local authorities' capacity to handle migration and protection, help with voluntary return of migrants and refugee integration in host communities and resettlement, desert rescue, protection of unaccompanied children, victim assistance for gender-based violence, monitoring of conditions in detention centers in Libya and evacuation from Libya of vulnerable refugees to Niger for further resettlement."

Top Danish officials recently visited Frontex operations in Sicily, including Defense Minister Claus Hjort Frederiksen, Minister of Integration Inger Støjberg, and Minister for Development Cooperation Ulla Tørnæs.

"It is crucial that we strengthen the EU's external borders if we are to handle the migration pressures against Europe in the future," Tørnæs said. "At the same time, it is crucial that we strengthen efforts on migration routes in the Sahel region, including with support for local authorities, so that they can better fight human trafficking networks, and that we contribute to information efforts so that young Africans are not tempted - with their lives - into a hopeless journey towards Europe."

It is interesting to note that Denmark's latest contribution to the UNHCR's Mediterranean efforts are lower than in previous years - 35 million DKK in 2018 and 15 DKK in 2017.

In November, 2018, Infowars Europe helped bring to light revelations that migrants were using preloaded MasterCard debit cards bearing insignias of the UNHCR and EU to pay for goods and services along their journeys.

Denmark appears to be moving in a different direction on issues related to immigration than many European countries, recently announcing plans to start sending migrants home instead of integrating them, quarantining certain foreign criminals on an isolated island, and stripping a Moroccan jihadist of his Danish citizenship in a landmark legal ruling.

Europe appears lost as reports emerge that German police are actually covering up migrant crimes to push the narrative that migrants are never violent or break the law and should be welcomed with open arms.

Boston Globe yanks Op-Ed in which writer reveals he wishes he urinated on Bill Kristol’s dinner

The Boston Globe removed an Op-Ed from its website one day after it posted the piece written by a former waiter who expressed regret he didn't urinate on the dinner of a conservative pundit and hoped outgoing Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen would be kept unemployed and face confrontation in public over what he deemed "ethnic cleansing."

The Boston Globe did not return Fox News’ request for comment, but according to a note to readers on the paper’s opinion page, the column was taken off the website because it did not receive proper editorial scrutiny. The paper also stressed that the column’s author, Luke O’ Neil, is not a staff writer.

“The Globe Opinion page has removed from its website an April 10 column by Luke O'Neil on former homeland security chief Kirstjen Nielsen because it did not receive sufficient editorial oversight and did not meet Globe standards. The Globe regrets its lack of vigilance on the matter. O’Neil is not on staff,” the note read.

BOSTON GLOBE OPINION WRITER WISHED HE PEED ON BILL KRISTOL'S DINNER, SAYS NIELSEN MUST BE BLACKBALLED

“Keep Kirstjen Nielsen unemployed and eating Grubhub over her kitchen sink,” read the headline of the article published on Wednesday, written by O’Neil, an occasional writer for the Guardian, with bylines as well in The New York Times, New York magazine, and elsewhere.

“One of the biggest regrets of my life is not pissing in Bill Kristol’s salmon,” read the article’s first sentence before it was shortly scrubbed, with the Globe issuing a prominent editor's note saying that the previous tone wasn’t appropriate.

“A version of this column as originally published did not meet Globe standards and has been changed. The Globe regrets the previous tone of the piece,” the note read.

On Thursday, the entire article was axed.

The piece also accused Nielsen of being a “reluctant triggerman for Donald Trump’s inhumane policies of ethnic cleansing” and called for throwing out current and former administration officials from restaurants over the Trump administration's zero-tolerance enforcement of illegal immigration practices that existed prior to Trump's election.

O’Neil wrote that the 2016 election “was the last time I remember being proud to be an American.”  Last year, Nielsen, White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders and others from the administrationwere forced to leave restaurants due to rowdy protesters.

ALEXANDRIA OCASIO-CORTEZ: KIRSTJEN NIELSEN ‘OVERSAW ONE OF THE LARGEST-SCALE HUMAN RIGHTS VIOLATIONS IN HISTORY’

The author then criticized media figures for “scolding” the protesters who ushered the officials from public places, stating that he supports America becoming a country where Republicans aren’t allowed to eat at certain restaurants.

O’Neil admitted that the situation at the southern border predates the Trump administration, and added that members of both the Trump and Obama administrations should be sent to prison, or at least thrown out of a restaurant.

Trump Says He Expects to Meet N.Korea's Kim Again After Hanoi Summit

President Donald Trump said on Wednesday that he expects to meet with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un again after their planned summit next week in Hanoi.

Speaking at the White House, Trump said he would like to remove sanctions on North Korea, but that he needs to see Pyongyang make a move first on denuclearization.

"I don't think this will be the last meeting by any chance," Trump said.

The United States has been demanding that North Korea give up its nuclear weapons program that threatens the United States. North Korea has been insisting on the lifting of U.S.-led sanctions, a formal end to the 1950-53 Korean War and security guarantees.

Trump has been eager for the Feb. 27-28 summit in Vietnam, even though a first meeting in Singapore in June produced only vague commitments from Kim and little concrete progress since.

"I think they want to do something. We’ll see what happens," Trump said, adding that he would need to see "meaningful" progress from the other side before making any changes to the U.S. sanctions.

On Tuesday, Trump had reiterated that he wants North Korea to end its nuclear program, but added that he is in no rush and had no pressing time schedule for Pyongyang.

Stranded man who feared arrest found dead after 5-day search

A man who likely died from exposure while stranded in Arizona might have survived if he had not rejected rescue efforts because he was afraid of being arrested, authorities said Tuesday.

Ryan Long, 38, died several days after authorities found his friend, Reelaiah Ahasteen, 35, in another location in snowy and muddy conditions, Coconino County sheriff's officials said.

The two had left Meteor Crater, a popular tourist site east of Flagstaff, on March 7 when their vehicle got stuck, authorities said, citing information from Ahasteen's mother.

She tried to locate them and then notified authorities when she couldn't.

A deputy was able to contact Long on his cellphone, but he refused to give any details about his location.

"There were some general statements that he did not want or need our help and then he hung up," sheriff's spokesman Rex Gilliland said.

Deputies said they later learned that Long believed he might have an arrest warrant and wanted to avoid law enforcement.

"Clearly had he not made the decisions to avoid us, we would have found him Friday afternoon with her," Gilliland said.

Long was found with two substances that are believed to be marijuana and methamphetamine, Gilliland said.

The sheriff's office said Long of Leupp has had run-ins with authorities in the past, but it could not find any active warrants for him.

Searchers found Ahasteen suffering from hypothermia on a forest road the day after she and Long got stranded. She was treated and released.

Air and ground search teams spent the next three days looking for signs of Long or his car.

On March 11, search and rescue volunteers found his body off a forest road just 2 miles (3 kilometers) from the spot where his friend had been rescued. His footprints indicated he had been avoiding any roads, deputies said.

His cause of death is pending, but deputies believe he died from exposure to cold temperatures.

Family members told deputies that Long had suffered a traumatic brain injury in the past.

Senior White House adviser Jared Kushner said Tuesday that a detailed plan for a merit-based immigration system will be presented to President Trump, giving priority to skilled immigrants rather than those with family ties to the U.S.

“I do believe that the president’s position on immigration has been maybe defined by his opponents by what he’s against as opposed to what he’s for,” Kushner said at the Time 100 Summit in New York City. “What I’ve done is I’ve tried to put together a very detailed proposal for him.”

KUSHNER: RUSSIA INVESTIGATION HAD ‘HARSHER IMPACT’ ON US THAN ELECTION MEDDLING

Kushner announced that the new immigration proposal, which Trump will receive this week or next, will resemble the point-based systems in Canada, Australia and New Zealand, and will unify people by ensuring strong wages and secure borders while protecting humanitarian values.

“We want to protect our country’s humanitarian values. We want to make sure we’re reunifying families, and we want to do this in a way that allows our country to be competitive long term,” he said. “And my hope is we can really do something that unifies people around what we’re for on immigration.”

JARED KUSHNER RESPONDS AFTER HASAN MINHAJ CALLS OUT HIS TIES TO SAUDI PRINCE

Kushner denied in the same talk that he has clashed with White House staffer Stephen Miller, who’s seen as tougher on immigration than others, adding that the plan was concocted with the help of Miller and Kevin Hassett, chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers.

“And I say that If that if I can get Stephen Miller and Kevin Hassett to agree on an immigration plan, then Middle East peace will be easy by comparison,” Kushner joked, referring to the Israel-Palestine peace plan he’s working on.

After the plan gets presented to Trump, it will likely undergo some changes and then he will decide when to proceed with it, Kushner said.

“It’s very, very complicated, but it’s a very interesting issue, and if we can solve it, I do think it’s a critical component for America’s long-term competitive advantage,” he added.

Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro on Thursday said his government must make men aware of the dangers of poor hygiene after expressing dismay over the 1,000 penis amputations that apparently occur in his country each year.

“In Brazil, we have 1,000 penis amputations a year due to a lack of water and soap,” he said while speaking to reporters in Brasilia after visiting the Education Ministry. “We have to find a way to get out of the bottom of this hole.”

The far-right leader called the figure “ridiculous and sad,” Reuters reported. A spokeswoman for the Brazilian urology society told the news agency the number is based on its official data for penis amputations.

The amputations were conducted out of necessity over untreated infections, along with complications from HIV and various cancers, she said.

A top Russian diplomat says Russia is willing to negotiate a new nuclear weapons treaty with the United States and China.

Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov told reporters on Friday Moscow is closely following reports in the United States that the U.S. would like to reach a nuclear weapons deal with both Russia and China, and is “willing” to negotiate. The story was reported by CNN earlier Friday.

Ryabkov also said that Russia “would like to convince” the U.S. to adopt a joint statement that would condemn any use of nuclear weapons.

Ryabkov’s comments come just months after the U.S. withdrew from the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty, a cornerstone of the post-Cold War security, and Russia followed suit. Each claims breaches by the other.

Government dysfunction and an intelligence failure that preceded the Easter Sunday bombings in Sri Lanka are traced to simmering divisions between the president and prime minister after a weekslong political crisis that crippled the country last year.

The government has admitted to a “lapse of intelligence” after officials failed to act upon near-specific information received from foreign agencies. Suicide bombers exploded themselves last Sunday in three churches and three luxury hotels, killing 253 people and wounding 400 more. Authorities said eight Muslim militants blew themselves up at their targets while the wife of one of the attackers blasted herself on being rounded up by police.

The carnage has brought forth arguments that worshippers and holidaymakers fell victim to the rivalry and a lack of communication between the country’s two leaders — President Maithripala Sirisena and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe.

The Cabinet led by Wickremesinghe says neither he nor his ministers were informed of the intelligence received by the defense authorities. Sirisena is the head of state, defense minister, minister in charge of the police and head of the armed forces. He also chairs the National Security Council, which includes the heads of security agencies and departments. Traditionally the prime minister also plays an important role on the council.

According to Health Minister Rajitha Senaratne, Sirisena has not included Wickremesinghe in national security affairs since a dispute between them came into the open in October last year. This is an unusual departure from the protocol, he said.

Senaratne said that Sirisena was overseas when the attacks took place and even after that, the National Security Council refused to meet with Wickremesinghe as he tried to give them instructions.

Sirisena has also said that he was not informed of the intelligence received and vowed to overhaul the leadership of the defense forces.

The top bureaucrat at the Defense Ministry, Hemasiri Fernando, has resigned at Sirisena’s insistence.

“It is a major factor,” said Jehan Perera, the head of local activist group National Peace Council, referring to the alleged lack of coordination between the leaders contributing to the failure to prevent the attacks.

“The primary responsibility has to be taken by the president, he did not give the information and he did not act,” Perera said. “He had the Ministry of Defense, took the police from the prime minister, chaired the National Security Council meetings and did nothing,” Perera said.

Kusal Perera, a journalist and political commentator, says security and intelligence officials should have acted on the information whether or not they received orders from politicians.

“If they (Wickremesinghe and his party) were not invited to the National Security Council, why did not they say in Parliament that they were not responsible for the security of the country any longer,” said Perera, who is not related to Jehan Perera.

“Saying that now is taking political advantage, not taking responsibility,” he said.

Sirisena and Wickremesinghe belong to different political parties but came together for Sirisena’s presidential campaign in 2015. Their relationships broke down and their differences exploded last year when Sirisena suddenly sacked Wickremesinghe as prime minister and appointed in his place former strongman Mahinda Rajapaksa, whom he defeated in the presidential election. The crisis crippled the country for more than seven weeks to the point of not being able to pass this year’s national budget on time.

A court decision compelled Sirisena to reappoint Wickremesinghe, but the two leaders have been rivals within the same government.

Rajapaksa, who is the minority leader in Parliament, blames the government for weakening intelligence and dropping its guard, which he had maintained to defeat the separatist Tamil Tiger rebels 10 years ago to end the 26-year-old civil war. He also criticized the government for the detention of intelligence officers accused of extrajudicial killings and abductions during the closing days of the war, which he said crippled the security apparatus before the bombings. According to conservative U.N estimates, some 100,000 people were killed in Sri Lanka’s conflict.

Sirisena summoned an all-party conference Thursday to which Wickremesinghe was also invited. At the conference, Sirisena stressed “setting aside all the political beliefs and difference (so that) everybody should collectively commit towards building a peaceful environment within the country,” a statement from his office said.

“It is not a secret that the disagreements between me and the government aggravated over the past two years,” Sirisena told the country’s media executives Friday. “One of the reasons for that is weakening of military intelligence and arresting military officials unnecessarily and my speaking up against it within and outside the government.”

Jehan Perera said that the security threat could prove politically advantageous to Rajapaksa and his family, with a presidential election scheduled at the end of this year. Gotabhaya Rajapaksa, a younger brother of Mahinda, was the powerful defense secretary during his brother’s reign and has expressed his interest to join the contest.

“People are saying we want a stronger leader and they are talking about Gotabhaya. It (the blasts) has worked to their benefit,” Perera said.

Cyprus police are intensifying a search for the remains of more victims at locations where an army officer, who authorities say admitted to killing five women and two girls, allegedly had dumped their bodies.

Police said Friday’s search will concentrate on a military firing range, a reservoir and a man-made lake near an abandoned mine approximately 32 kilometers (20 miles) west of the capital Nicosia.

On Thursday, the 35-year-old suspect told investigators that he had killed four more people than he had previously admitted to. All the suspect’s alleged victims are foreign nationals.

Police have already found the bodies of a 38-year-old Filipino woman and two as yet unidentified women.

Search crews are now looking for the daughter of the 38-year-old, a Romanian mother and daughter and another Filipino woman.
