Swedish Migration Official Suspected of Illegally Granting Visas to Over 120 Afghans

A former employee of the Swedish Migration Board has been arrested under suspicion of illegally helping at least 121 Afghan migrants obtain visas, local media reports.

The ex-official and two possible accomplices were apprehended in early morning raids near Stockholm and Gothenburg, prosecutor Arne Fors told Aftonbladet.

The man is suspected of employing a variety of different approaches, including reversing visa application denials, authorizing visas on false grounds, and even approving 21 Afghans who claimed they had been invited by a prominent Swedish company to attend the Swedish Open tennis tournament, supplying documents that were clearly forgeries, according to the Migration Board.

"When deciding on a visa, some checks must be made," Fors explained. "If there is an invitation from any association or company, contact them, to make sure that this is a real invitation."

Some of the Afghans applied for asylum once they reached Sweden.

"Those who have received visas have been able to come to Sweden on them," Fors said. "And when you are in Sweden you can apply for asylum, if you want."

The Migration Board reportedly began investigating the suspect in 2016, and he was later dismissed in 2017 after admitting to incorrectly approving 14 visa applications.

The investigation has now expanded to 121 cases.

"The principal is suspected of gross misconduct, and the others for helping with that crime," Fors said of the three suspects. "Their roles have been clear and we have gained more clarity in the actual course of events."

The ex-official's lawyer maintains that his client is innocent, and only admits to errors in judgment.

Italy's Matteo Salvini recently said his nationalist party, Lega, is here to stay. Dan Lyman with Infowars Europe joins Owen to discuss the future of Europe and solutions for the migration crisis.

Schiff: Pelosi Is 'Absolutely Right' on Impeachment

A key House investigator says Speaker Nancy Pelosi is "absolutely right" to hold back on impeachment proceedings against President Donald Trump.

House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff sided with Pelosi, who said Democrats shouldn't pursue impeachment unless there's overwhelming and bipartisan support for doing so. Her comments to The Washington Post riled some liberals in the House Democratic caucus.

But Schiff said Tuesday, "I think the speaker is absolutely right." He said pursuing impeachment without bipartisan political support would be doomed to "failure."

Schiff said Democrats need to see the report from special counsel Robert Mueller. He said that if the Justice Department tries to withhold any of it, the House might bring in Mueller to testify.

Schiff spoke at a breakfast hosted by the Christian Science Monitor.

Fury as YouTube Attaches 9/11 Article to Notre Dame Fire Livestream

In 2018, YouTube introduced its knowledge panel feature in a bid to prevent users from consuming misinformation on the platform, including conspiracy theories pertaining to the 11 September 2001 terror attacks.

YouTube users in the US and South Korea who watched Monday’s livestreams of the burning Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, were greeted with a small gray panel titled “September 11 attacks”, which contained a snippet from an Encyclopedia Britannica article about the 9/11 event.

YouTube was quick to explain in a statement that the platform “launched information panels with links to third-party sources like Encyclopaedia Britannica and Wikipedia for subjects subject to misinformation”.

“These panels are triggered algorithmically and our systems sometimes make the wrong call. We are disabling these panels for live streams related to the fire,” the statement pointed out.

Many Twitter users have, meanwhile, expressed indignation about what some described as YouTube’s “crazy” move to install its knowledge panel feature underneath the Notre Dame Cathedral livestreams.

Big Tech is now bragging about the amount of control they will have over public discourse online. Alex explains that globalists have been planning to have this type of control for decades.

Others called YouTube a “joke”, adding that the platform has turned into “a parody of itself”.

Moderating livestreams remains an issue for YouTube, which, in particular, disabled comments on a livestream of the US congressional hearing on white nationalism and social media.

April 21, 2019

RABAT (Reuters) – Thousands of Moroccans staged a march on Sunday in downtown Rabat to demand the release of activists who led protests over economic and social problems in the northern Rif region in late 2016 and 2017.

Two weeks ago, an appeals court in Casablanca upheld 20-year prison sentences against Nasser Zefzafi, Nabil Ahamjik, Ouassim Boustati and Samir Ighid on charges including undermining public order and threatening national unity.

Another 35 activists were jailed for between two and 15 years and one received a one-year suspended sentence.

Carrying flags of the Amazigh community and pictures of jailed activists, participants in the march chanted “Freedom, dignity and social justice”, “Long live the Rif”, and “The people want immediate release of Rif detainees.”

The march brought together families of Rif activists, human rights organizations, the Amazigh movement, leftist political parties and the banned Islamist movement Al-Adl wal-Ihsan.

The demonstrators also called for the release of journalist Hamid El Mahdaoui who covered the Rif protests and received a three-year jail sentence on the charge of not reporting a crime against state security after receiving a phone call from a Moroccan living abroad saying he would introduce arms to Morocco.

The Rif demonstrations, along with those in the mining town of Jerada in early 2018, have been the most intense since unrest in 2011 prompted King Mohammed VI to devolve some of his powers to an elected parliament.

The protests in the predominantly Amazigh-speaking Rif erupted after the death of fishmonger Mouhcine Fikri in October 2016, who was crushed inside a rubbish truck trying to recover fish confiscated by police.

Illegal Alien Charged With Over 100 Child Sex Crimes

A previously-deported illegal alien was arrested in Louisiana and charged with 100 counts of possession of child pornography, one count of production of child pornography, and one count of sexual battery of a juvenile under the age of 13.

Miguel Martinez, 44, had been deported in 2005 and is a registered sex offender in the sanctuary state of California, according a press release issued by the Louisiana Department of Justice.

“Internet crimes against children continuously inflict damage,” said Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry. “Every time one of these videos or images is viewed, the child is re-victimized.”

Homeland Security has reportedly placed a detainer on Martinez and it is expected he will face additional charges pending further investigation.

AG Landry used occasion to issue a distress signal to Washington and voice his support for the building of a wall on the Southern border.

“This arrest should serve as a wake-up call to Congress,” Landry said. “By not securing our borders and properly vetting those coming into our Nation, we have seen lives lost and destroyed.”

“Illegal immigration has real-life consequences – countless numbers of needless crime victims, including too many Louisiana families and children. For their sake – I again urge Congress to realize the national emergency we have at our Southern border, support President Trump, build the wall, and help us make our communities safer.”

In this exclusive video, border patrol vans are seen pulling up to a Catholic respite center near McAllen, Texas, where a worker then warns that shooting video endangers the illegal aliens in the vans because they could be recognized and extorted by human traffickers or anybody they “borrowed money from.”

UN envoy: Yemen parties agree on initial Hodeida withdrawals

The U.N. envoy for Yemen says the government and Houthi rebels have reached agreement on the initial redeployment of forces from the key port of Hodeida.

Martin Griffiths told the Security Council Monday that "when — and I hope it is when and not if — these redeployments happen they will be the first voluntary withdrawals of forces in this long conflict."

He called Hodeida "a test of many things" including leadership, and expressed hope "that we shall see in the coming days the people's trust vindicated in this."

Griffiths said agreement on the detailed plan for the phase one withdrawals was reached in negotiations between the parties and Lt. Gen. Michael Lollesgaard, who heads the U.N. operation monitoring the cease-fire and redeployment agreement reached in Sweden in December.

April 26, 2019

GERMISTON, South Africa (Reuters) – Olympic 400 meters champion Wayde van Niekerk has backed South African compatriot Caster Semenya in her battle with the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF), which now appears to have taken a new twist.

Semenya, a double 800 meters Olympic gold medalist, is waiting for the outcome of her appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) to halt the introduction of new regulations by governing body IAAF that would require her to take medicine to limit her natural levels of testosterone.

The IAAF wants female athletes with differences of sexual development who run in events from 400 meters to a mile, to reduce their blood testosterone level to below five (5) nmol/L for a period of six months before they can compete, saying they have an unfair advantage.

“She’s fighting for something beyond just track and field, she’s fighting for woman in sports, in society and I respect her for that,” Van Niekerk told reporters.

“I will support her and with the hard work and talent that she’s been putting into the sport. With what she believes in and what she’s dreaming for, I’ve got a lot of respect for her.

“I really hope and pray that everything just goes from strength to strength for her.”

Semenya has sprung a surprise at the on-going South African Athletics Championships though, ditching the 800 meters and instead competing over 1,500 and 5,000-metres – the latter one would not require her to medically lower her testosterone level.

She stormed to victory in the 5,000-metres final in a modest time of 16:05.97, but looked to have lots left in the tank as she passed the finish line.

Semenya beat fellow Olympian and defending national 5,000m champion Dominique Scott in Thursday’s final but the latter admitted she is unsure whether the 800m specialist could be a serious Olympic contender over the longer distance.

“Honestly‚ I have no idea‚” Scott said. “Before today I probably would have said no. It’s hard to compare a 5,000 at altitude to a 5,000 at sea level.

“But I think she’s an amazing runner and I don’t think there’s any limit or ceiling on what she can do.”

Van Niekerk, the 400m world record holder, had to abort his comeback from a knee injury, that had sidelined him for 18 months, following a combination of cold weather and a wet track.

“We are trying to take the correct decisions now early in the year so as not to put myself in any harm,” he said.

“It was a bit chilly this entire week prepping and coming through here as well it was quite cold and it caused bit of tightness in my leg. We decided to not risk it.

“My recovery is going well and I would like to be back in competition this year, but will only do so if I can deliver a good performance.

“I am a competitor and respect my opponents, so I need to be at my best when I return.”

The suspected leader of the Easter Sunday bombings in Sri Lanka died in the Shangri-La hotel, one of six hotels and churches targeted in the attacks that killed at least 250 people, authorities said.

Police said Mohamed Zahran, leader of the National Towheed Jamaat militant group, had been killed in one of the bombings. The group’s second in command was also arrested, police said.

Zahran amassed an online following for his hate-filled sermons. Some were delivered before a banner depicting the Twin Towers.

Sri Lankan authorities said Friday that Islamic cleric Mohammed Zahran died in the blast at the Shangri-La hotel during the Easter Sunday atatcks that killed at least 250 people.

Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison said Friday that the attackers responsible for the bombings were supported by the Islamic State group. Around 140 people in Sri Lanka had connections to ISIS, Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena said.

“We will completely control this and create a free and peaceful environment for people to live,” he said.

Investigators determined the attackers received military training from someone called “Army Mohideen.” They also received weapons training overseas and at some locations in Sri Lanka, according to authorities.

A copper factory operator arrested in connection with the bombings helped Mohideen make improvised explosive devices, police said. The bombings have led to increased security throughout the island nation as authorities warned of another attack.

A Malaysian mountain climber was being treated in a hospital in Nepal’s capital Friday after being stranded nearly two days alone near the summit of Annapurna.

A helicopter crew searching for the missing climber on Thursday spotted Wui Kin Chin waving his hands at them, and rescuers brought him down to a lower camp.

At the time of his rescue, Chin had been without an oxygen bottle, food and water for over 40 hours, said Mingma Sherpa, the head of Seven Summit Treks, which arranged his expedition.

Chin was flown to the capital, Kathmandu, on Friday and taken to a hospital, where his wife joined him.

Chin is an anesthesiologist and accomplished climber, and Sherpa credited Chin’s medical knowledge and familiarity with mountains for keeping him alive.

“It’s a big thing to stay alive in that altitude without food, water, and oxygen,” Sherpa said. He described Chin on Thursday as fine but not in condition to walk.

Chin was a part of a 13-member expedition led by a French climber and was separated from the others during the descent.

The 8,091-meter (26,545-foot) Mount Annapurna is the ninth tallest mountain in Nepal and the 10th tallest in the world. It’s considered an especially treacherous mountain due to its difficult terrain and weather conditions.

Spain’s prime minister says he’s open to a coalition with an anti-austerity party, hinting for the first time at a possible center-left governing alliance after Sunday’s national election.

In an interview published Friday by El Pais newspaper, Socialist leader Pedro Sánchez says “it isn’t a problem” for the far-left United We Can to become part of his Cabinet if he wins the tight race.

With Spain’s electoral law banning polls during the last week of campaigning, it’s unclear if the two parties will emerge strong enough in the lower house of parliament or whether a right-wing alliance could assemble a majority.

Sánchez is calling on Spaniards to cast a “useful vote” and has warned that the rise of the far right in polls could be underestimated given the large pool of undecided voters.

AMSTERDAM (Reuters) – Dutch telecom firm Royal KPN NV said on Friday it would select a Western supplier to build its core 5G mobile network, making it one of the first European operators to make clear it would not pick China’s Huawei for such work.

The United States has been seeking to discourage its allies from using equipment made by Huawei because of concerns that it could eventually be used for Chinese government spying. Huawei says such worries are baseless and U.S. policy is driven by economic interests.

The Hague-based KPN, the Netherlands’ largest telecom firm, said its decision took into account “the evolving assessment on the protection of vital infrastructure and the influence this may have on future Dutch policy.”

The Dutch government has not taken a decision on the issue.

KPN, which also reported on Friday slightly worse than expected first quarter core earnings of 563 million euros ($627 million), said it would still use equipment made by Huawei in some capacities.

In addition, the company announced a preliminary deal with Huawei to upgrade existing mobile telecommunications gear to make it safer. Huawei has been a key supplier to KPN in the past decade.

The Dutch government set up a task force with KPN and other major operators in the Netherlands this month to analyze the “vulnerability of 5G telecommunications networks to misuse by technology vendors … and measures needed to manage risks.”

KPN said it would use equipment made by Huawei, which it described as a world leader in radio and antenna technology, to improve security on its existing network.

“This preliminary agreement can be adjusted or reversed to align it with future Dutch government policy,” it added.

Sources told Reuters on Wednesday that Britain’s National Security Council (NSC) had decided to bar Huawei from core parts of the country’s 5G network and restrict its access to non-core areas.
