An Australian MP was asked if she felt “complicit” in the New Zealand mosque attack due to her anti-mass migration positions during a heated interview on one of the country’s most-watched morning shows.

Sunrise host David Koch launched an aggressive ambush on Queensland MP Pauline Hanson, who heads her own nationalist-populist party, One Nation, asserting that most terror attacks are carried out by “right wing, white supremacists.”

“This terrorist manifesto almost reads like One Nation immigration and Muslim policy,” said Koch. “Do you feel in any way complicit with this atrocity?”

“The anti-Muslim rhetoric that you espouse constantly here, that you did in your maiden speech when you came to Parliament in 2016 — do you understand?”

“David, I feel for these people,” Hanson responded. “I feel for those families and who lost their lives — the same as just across the road from here where you had the Lindt cafe massacre that happened, the terrorist attacks, the ones that have been carried and the 14 that have been foiled.”

“We have problems, but you actually have to discuss it and debate the issues. Why do we have these terrorist attacks in this country? Why is it happening around the world?”

Koch responded by claiming, “Most of the terror attacks are right wing, white supremacists that are egged on by your comments.”

Koch went on to assert that Hanson’s warnings about the Islamization of Australia and Sharia creep could be seen as a “call to arms” by extremists.

“David, have a look at what has happened in England,” Hanson said. “I speak to people who are leaving England now to come out here because they’ve lost their country. England is not the country that they grew up in.”

“Women cannot walk down the streets in Sweden, and in France, the same thing.”

Koch replied, “That’s just tripe.”

Australian PM Scott Morrison has called for the “full force of the law” to be applied against Senator Fraser Anning, who defended himself after an attacker smashed an egg on his head during an interview.

New Zealand’s prime minister set a timeline for her government to draft stricter gun laws, but didn’t reveal specific details after a meeting with her cabinet following Friday’s deadly mosque shootings.

“Within 10 days of this horrific act of terrorism we will have announced reforms which will, I believe, make our community safer,” Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern said Monday in a news conference following the meeting, according to Reuters.

A suspected gunman has been detained after 49 people were shot and killed in two mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand, Friday. (RELATED: New Zealand Mosque Shootings Take At Least 49 Lives)

Ardern said her cabinet is “completely unified” in changing the country’s gun laws, even though they were only able to reach “in principle” agreements Monday, reported The Guardian. She was expected by some to announce a ban on semi-automatic rifles after her attorney general called attention to the plan Saturday.

“I strongly believe that the vast majority of gun owners in New Zealand will agree with the sentiment that change needs to occur,” Ardern said, according to CNN.

New Zealand law allows semi-automatic weapons limited to seven shots, according to Reuters. A gunman in one of the mosques used a semi-automatic weapon with a large magazine in live-streamed footage of the attack.

A New Zealand e-commerce site has already stopped selling semi-automatic guns online.

“We have listened to public sentiment following Friday’s terrorist attack in Christchurch and decided to remove all semi-automatic firearms sales and parts associated,” e-commerce company TradeMe wrote in a statement, according to CNN.

Like in the United States, most guns in New Zealand do not need to be registered. The country does not require registry for most rifles and shotguns for people over the age of 16 with entry-level firearm licenses, according to Yahoo! News. Only about 4 percent of its guns are registered, according to researcher Philip Alpers quoted by The Guardian.

New Zealanders possess an estimated 1.2 million firearms, meaning the country has a rate of roughly one gun per three people, according to The Guardian. That rate is much lower than the rate in the U.S., where some estimate there are more guns than people.

An alleged gunman who attacked one of the mosques Friday wrote the name of a little girl killed in a 2017 terrorist attack on his rifle, saying his own attack was “revenge” for her death. The Australian man, 28-year-old Brenton Tarrant, has been charged with murder. He connected himself to the shootings after posting a manifesto on his childhood, his fear of white genocide and his desire to send a message that “nowhere in the world is safe,” reported The Guardian.

“I chose firearms for the affect it would have on social discourse, the extra media coverage they would provide and the effect it could have on the politics of United States and thereby the political situation of the world,” the manifesto states, according to The Guardian.

A New York University (NYU) student who blamed Chelsea Clinton for the New Zealand mosque shootings apologized on Twitter Monday after resurfaced tweets showed she used inappropriate terms in the past.

NYU senior Leen Dweik was one of the activists who confronted Clinton at the school’s vigil for those killed in New Zealand Friday.

WATCH:

“The 49 people died because of the rhetoric you put out there,” Dweik said in a video of the confrontation with Clinton. (RELATED: Omar Has Gotten In Hot Water With Frequent Comments About Israel)

Some of the now-deleted tweets reported by IsraellyCool used the word “faggot.”

Dweik apologized in a series of tweets, adding they were written when she was a high school sophomore.

“Six years ago I [sic] tweeted quotes my black friend said to me, not then recognizing that even typing out the words someone else had used was not my right,” Dweik wrote. “I [sic] understand the violent history of the n-word and apologize to everyone in the black community, especially those who feel hurt by this.”

Dweik continued in another tweet that she picked up the “f-word” from a “toxic individual,” but still supported gay rights.

“I [sic] did not then see the disconnect between using such language and supporting the gay community, but as soon as I [sic] did, that word was completely dropped from my vocabulary,” Dweik tweeted.

Dweik along with fellow NYU student Rose Asaf explained in a Buzzfeed op-ed that they confronted Clinton for “her false charge of anti-Semitism” against Democratic Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar.

Omar accused pro-Israel lobbying group American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) for buying pro-Israel support in a February tweet. Clinton responded in a tweet that all elected officials should be expected “to not traffic in anti-Semitism.”

Dweik and Asaf did not immediately respond to The Daily Caller News Foundation’s request for comment.

Double-amputee and former Marine Johnny “Joey” Jones criticized a teenager on “Fox & Friends” Monday after he snuck up behind an Australian senator and smashed an egg over his head.

A 17-year-old cracked an egg over the head of Australian Sen. Fraser Anning while he was speaking with the press Saturday about the mosque attack in New Zealand. Anning responded by hitting the teen in the face and a small brawl broke out.

Police later arrested the teen and then released him, pending an investigation.

“I don’t back stupidity, but I understand it’s someone’s nature to defend themselves,” Jones said. “Let me make this clear — I’m not defending this senator’s comments at all, but if you walk up to someone and attack them from behind and don’t expect retaliation, you’re pretty stupid. Perhaps at 17 he doesn’t know this — maybe at 18 or 20 he will. Maybe that’s why we don’t let 17-year-olds vote in this country.”

Anning blamed the unchecked migration of radical Muslims for the mosque attack and faced backlash for his public comments on the subject. (RELATED: Australian Senator Slaps Teen For Cracking An Egg On The Back Of His Head During Live Interview)

WATCH:

“Someone that’s been trained in hand-to-hand combat I can tell you, if I get attacked from behind, the first thing I’m going to do is react — before I realize if that was an egg or a hammer or what it was,”Jones continued.

“He takes a moment, a split second and it looks like he decides to slap him instead of punch him, and I do applaud the senator on that notion. Then the 17-year-old retaliates and then he comes back with his fists swinging. I think the people around the senator did the right thing by separating them and neutralizing the kid.”

Jones also said violence is never the answer, but that Anning had a right to defend himself after the teenager initiated the contact.

“Violence is never the remedy you initiate, but when someone attacks you, you defend yourself. In this country, we have the right to self-defense in most states. I don’t know exactly what Australia’s laws are,” he said. “I’m sure the senator, obviously being the older person and the person who retaliated — it’s kind of like on the football field. You only see the person that punches back, I guess. I’m not sure why people are deciding that this 17-year-old kid is a victim. He initiated the contact.”

Brenton Tarrant, the suspect behind the massacre of 50 people at two New Zealand mosques, has fired his court-appointed lawyer and wants to defend himself amid concerns he might use the high-profile trial to promote his beliefs.

Tarrant, a 28-year-old Australian charged with murder over the brutal attack, has sacked his lawyer Richard Peters, the attorney told the NZ Herald on Sunday.

The alleged shooter parted ways with Peters on Saturday, shortly after his brief appearance before Christchurch District Court that morning. Peters said that the Australian “seemed quite clear and lucid” as he refused his legal assistance.

“He didn’t appear to me to be facing any challenges or mental impairment, other than holding fairly extreme views,” the lawyer said. Apart from the calm demeanor the attacker displayed during his several minutes before the judge, little is known about his current state of mind since Tarrant had not issued a statement or attempted to address the court.

He did not seek bail, neither did he appeal to have his name withheld.

The mass shooting in New Zealand appears to line up with the narrative that conservatives are violent and hateful and therefore deserve to be censored. Matt Bracken joins Alex to reveal how actually Facebook is responsible for the attention this murderer received.

Tarrant’s now-former lawyer said that the alleged assailant did not appear to show any remorse – though they did not specifically discuss that topic.

According to Peters, his sacking might be an early indication that Tarrant wants to make the most of his trial by treating it as an opportunity to promote his violent extremist views. In that case, it will be up to the presiding judge to cut short any such PR stunt.

“I suspect that he won’t shy away from publicity, and that will probably be the way he runs the trial. The job of the trial judge will be to deal with that.”

The lawyer believes the court will not be “very sympathetic” to Tarrant if he opts to use it as a tool in his propaganda game.

While the court cannot preclude Tarrant from representing himself, it is likely to appoint a lawyer who would advise the alleged attacker on the rules of judicial procedure, Peters noted.

As concerns are mounting that the alleged gunman could subvert the NZ judicial system to serve his own interests, the New Zealand authorities are asking the media and the general public to give Tarrant as little exposure as possible.

Hagen Hopkins/Getty Images

Judging by his previous actions, publicity is exactly what Tarrant is seeking. He sent a lengthy manifesto to NZ Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern’s office 10 minutes before going on a shooting rampage inside the Al Noor mosque. He then live-streamed the whole massacre on Facebook.

While the original video has long since been removed, Facebook is still struggling to delete copies, having erased 1.5 million instances of the video in the first 24 hours after the attack.

In order to prevent the spread of the video, the New Zealand government has cracked down on those who defy the ban on ‘objectionable’ content.

On Sunday, a 22-year-old man was arrested for allegedly distributing the blood-curdling video. The man, who faces jail if found guilty, will appear before court on Monday.

The alleged shooter’s next appearance before the judge is scheduled for April 5.

The Mosque shooter’s manifesto is filled with contradictions typical of an insane person. Alex Jones takes this story head on and delivers his break down of the manifesto meant to be a window into the killer’s mind.

On the show today we get into the evils of identity politics and the manipulation behind it. It’s how a terrorist attack half way around the world can be blamed on President Donald Trump by liberal politicians; how college students can blame the tragedy on tweets from Chelsea Clinton. It is the root of division sowed by political opportunists who seek the immediate at the expense of the future. It’s a very dangerous game Democrats are playing.

Listen to the show:

Identity politics divides people into tribes they favor over their own neighbors, makes people more sympathetic to victims of a terrorist attack thousands of miles away because the victims share more similar traits with them than they do with the victims of the carnage in Chicago. Chelsea Clinton showed up to a prayer vigil for victims of the New Zealand terrorist attack and was accused of causing the attack by students because she criticized a Muslim member of Congress for being anti-Semitic. Identity politics is evil, and Democrats are using it because divided groups of people are easier to manipulate.

Reuters had a bombshell story about Beto O’Rourke’s past, that he’d been a part of one of the most famous groups of hackers in history. But rather than run the story, the reporter kept it secret until after the election in exchange for an interview for a book he was working on. Trading for access is what liberals claim to be against.

President Donald Trump criticized late Sen. John McCain for his prominent role in spreading the bogus Steele dossier, which led to much criticism of the president, including from McCain’s daughter Meghan, for attacking a dead man. But is it really attacking a dead man when you’re simply being honest about things he did?

Plus, a goat was elected mayor of a town in Vermont. Immediately after being sworn in, the goat took a giant dump. It’s a perfect metaphor for politics today.

The student activists who blamed Chelsea Clinton for the New Zealand mosque shootings say their only aim was “to speak truth to power.”

The aggressive group confronted a pregnant Clinton at a New York University vigil Friday for the 49 Muslims killed in the Thursday attack. But the students, who say they “are unafraid to speak the truth,” wrote in a BuzzFeed News op-ed piece posted Sunday that cornering Clinton was all about their “duty to call out any bigotry wherever it exists.”

“This right here is the result of the massacre stoked by people like you and the words that you have put out into the world,” one student said to Clinton. “I want you to know that. I want you to feel that deep inside. The 49 people died because of the rhetoric you put out there.” (RELATED: Chelsea Clinton Apologizes To Students Who Blame Her For NZ Attack)

The activists apparently did not think Clinton had any business offering her condolences to the dead or attending any vigils.

“We did a double take when we first noticed Chelsea Clinton was at the vigil,” they wrote. “Just weeks before this tragedy, we bore witness to a bigoted, anti-Muslim mob coming after [New York Democratic] Rep. Ilhan Omar for speaking the truth about the massive influence of the Israel lobby in this country.” (RELATED: Minnesota Democrats Want To Topple Ilhan Omar And Nominate New Candidate)

Clinton disagreeing with Omar’s contention that Israel was buying-off Congress supposedly made Omar “vulnerable to anti-Muslim hatred and death threats” and therefore the group was “shocked when Clinton arrived at the vigil, given that she had not yet apologized to Rep. Omar for the public vilification against her.” They claimed “many students were dismayed to see her there.”

The activists noted they found the “opportunity to have her ear and confront her on her false charge of anti-Semitism against our only Black, Muslim, Somali, and refugee member of Congress. We took our chance to speak truth to power.”

While maintaining that “Chelsea hurt our fight against white supremacy” and reiterating their right to tell her she was unwelcome at a vigil, the student activists nonetheless argued that “for any of us to be safe, all of must be safe.”

“Superman” actor Dean Cain made an offhand comment about what he would do if someone blindsided him with an egg attack, and the Twitter mob came for him.

It all began with the now-viral video of Australian Senator Fraser Anning that circulated on Saturday. Anning was attacked by a teen — who broke an egg over his head from behind — and he turned and slapped the boy.

While many cheered the boy on, citing Anning’s “Islamophobic” views and anti-immigration stance, Cain responded to the video by saying simply, “I would have knocked that kid cold.”

He was immediately attacked for “defending a Nazi” and for advocating violence against a child — but Cain was quick to explain that neither of those accusations were based in reality. (RELATED: Dean Cain Fires Back At Critics Who Try To Smear Him As A ‘Homophobic Bigot’)

Cain spoke with The Daily Caller on Sunday, adding a more extensive explanation.

“You cannot attack someone for their political views, no matter how abhorrent,” he said. “Not with an egg, not with fists, not with guns. That’s wrong. In the U.S. we have the First Amendment which protects all speech, including unpopular speech, as long as it doesn’t call for violence. While I totally disagree with what I’ve seen of the Senator’s positions, is it illegal for him to hold them? Should he be physically attacked because of them?”

Cain also agreed that it was strange that while people have focused their criticism on Anning — for his political views and for hitting the boy who egged him — no one is criticizing those who appear content to perpetuate the idea that a violent attack of any kind is a reasonable response to disagreeable words or ideas.

Democratic Michigan Rep. Rashida Tlaib asserted that those who stay silent against hatred in the United States are helping white nationalism during a Sunday interview on CNN’s “State of the Union.”

“You said in a statement after the attack that you were angry at ‘those who follow the white supremacy agenda in my own country that sends a signal across the world that massacres like this are a call to action,’” CNN Host Jake Tapper said. “Who are you specifically talking about?”

“The ones that stay silent,” Tlaib responded. “And the ones that support the Muslim ban. Not only once, but twice, three times, did we in this nation say to the world, and to everyone in this country, that Muslims don’t belong here. From the fact that every time we talk about a wall, it’s not about a structure, but about xenophobia, it’s about racism.” (RELATED: Rashida Tlaib’s Ties To Anti-Semitism Run Deeper Than Previously Known)

Tlaib is one of the freshman members of Congress that is a Muslim. She condemned the attacks on two Mosques in New Zealand and asserted that President Donald Trump needed to take a stronger stance against the ideology spread by the shooter in an extended manifesto that repeatedly referred to Muslims as “invaders.”

“This morning I tried to hold back tears as I hugged my two brown, Muslim boys a little tighter and longer,” she said in a statement shortly after the attack. “I am so angry at those who follow the ‘white supremacy’ agenda in my own country that sends a signal across the world that massacres like this is some kind of call to action.”
