Jeff Zucker

CNN host Brian Stelter got roasted on Twitter after he quoted president Jeff Zucker’s claim that it’s not CNN journalists’ job to ‘investigate’.

“CNN prez Jeff Zucker: “We are not investigators. We are journalists, and our role is to report the facts as we know them, which is exactly what we did,” tweeted Stelter in response to the heat CNN and other mainstream media outlets have been receiving for their role in pushing the Russian collusion hoax.

Stelter’s tweet got ‘ratioed’ – with over 15,000 responses compared to just 1,100 retweets, with many pointing out that the job of journalists is literally to investigate things.

“For real Brian, in what world does this help you or CNN? asked Mike Cernovich. “CNN prez Jeff Zucker: “We are not investigators.” I’m trying bro. Help us understand. “We are not investigators.” How doesn’t this expose everyone at CNN as scribes for people in government?”

Another respondent pointed out that CNN literally hired BuzzFeed’s K-File to, well, investigate things.

Stelter subsequently blocked Jack Posobiec after Posobiec called him out.

“We’re not investigators, we’re not journalists, we’re worker bees for the primary media propaganda wing of the DNC…” THAT at least would’ve been an honest assessment of fake news central!” commented David Wohl.

Not a single member of the mainstream media has apologized or been disciplined for their role in pushing a dangerous conspiracy theory – the Russian collusion hoax – that divided the country and undermined democracy.

Tucker Carlson on Friday called for President Donald Trump to pardon Roger Stone “very soon,” while asserting that Democratic California Reps. Adam Schiff and Eric Swalwell should resign from office for peddling the Russia collusion conspiracy theory.

“This has been a disaster,” Carlson said on his show, hours after special counsel Robert Mueller sent his Russia investigation report to the Justice Department.

Agency officials said the report marks the end of the 22-month-long investigation, and no further indictments will be issued. The probe ends without any Trump associates being charged with conspiring with Russia to influence the 2016 election. Stone was indicted on Jan. 24 on charges related to his testimony in 2017 before the House Intelligence Committee. (RELATED: Mueller Submits Report To Justice Department)

“And what about the victims of this monstrosity? Roger Stone is facing life in prison,” Carlson said.

“All to find collusion. But there was no collusion. Stone is still looking at life in prison. Where is Roger Stone’s pardon? His pardon from the president? Let’s hope it comes very soon.”

Carlson also called out Schiff, Swalwell and CNN’s Jeff Zucker for promoting collusion conspiracy theories throughout the investigation.

“How can we let the people who are responsible for it continue as if it never happened?” the Fox News host asked.

“How can Eric Swalwell and Adam Schiff keep their seats in the House of Representatives? They should resign. How can Jeff Zucker remain at CNN after we now know that much of what his network told us for two years is a total lie?”

CNN was bestowed the Cronkite Award for its “Parkland Town Hall” which resulted in NRA spokeswoman Dana Loesch being escorted off the premises after attendees berated and tried to assault her.

The University of Southern California held the 10th biennial Walter Cronkite Awards for Excellence in Television Political Journalism on Wednesday, honoring CNN for its Parkland Town Hall last year for “helping advance the national conversation on gun control and violence.”

Loesch attended the event to defend the Second Amendment following the left’s calls for gun control over the deadly school shooting in Parkland, Florida, but the audience ended up hurling insults and threats of violence against her.

“Is this a joke? Seriously,” she tweeted Tuesday, before releasing several video clips of the event while it wasn’t televised.

“Here is some footage where people were yelling to burn me at CNN’s award-winning townhall where they ‘advanced the conversation on gun control,’” she said.

“Shame on you! Shame on you! Shame on you! Shame on you!” the audience chanted as Loesch was escorted from the event.

Some conversation.

Here’s more of the “conversation.”

“This is what happened when the cameras turned off at @CNNPR ’s award-winning townhall. They’re proud of it,” Loesch continued.

In the mainstream media bizarro world, CNN is given awards for “advancing the conversation on gun control and violence” for hosting an event that demonizes the Second Amendment and threatens violence against detractors.

Even CNN CEO Jeff Zucker was given a First Amendment award after lobbying to censor his competition online.

The hypocrisy of CNN chief Jeff Zucker being bestowed with a trophy for ‘protecting’ free speech after his network aggressively lobbied for the deplatforming of Alex Jones and Infowars was not lost on Fox News host Tucker Carlson.

Carlson blasted the spectacle of Zucker’s prizewinning at the Radio Television Digital News Foundation’s First Amendment Awards ceremony in Washington, D.C.

“Whatever you think of Jeff Zucker, he is not encumbered by shame,” Carlson said. “Keep in mind that it was his network, CNN, that argued in public that Fox News should not be allowed to ask any questions of the candidates in the Democratic primary debates — that just happened.”

“It was also CNN that demanded radio show host Alex Jones be silenced because Jeff Zucker didn’t like what he was saying.”

“CNN waged a long campaign against Jones; it worked. Jeff Zucker silenced and deplatformed his show,” Carlson continued. “It was a stunning defeat for free speech. So naturally, Jeff Zucker just won the First Amendment award.”

Deadline Hollywood described the awards dinner as a “Trump-trashing” bonanza, with mainstream media operatives accusing President Trump of endangering the lives of the press.

Zucker said the President’s administration “quite literally… put our lives at risk with their words and their actions,” and also, “does not tolerate a free and independent press.”

CNN contributor Carl Bernstein introduced Zucker, saying, “We’re here tonight at a deadly serious moment even as we celebrate.”

“I don’t know of a moment that’s more perilous for the country, for reporting, for the truth and for the First Amendment.”

Interestingly, Fox News anchor Shep Smith, who is regarded by many as one of the most left-leaning personalities on the network, was also granted an award, while Carlson’s show was reportedly not even nominated.

Smith was congratulated by Zucker, who said he “greatly” admires the Fox host.

CNN president Jeff Zucker delivered a keynote speech at SXSW Saturday that saw him expressing belief that there was political motivation behind the Justice Department's lawsuit to stop AT&T's acquisition of his parent company, Time Warner, as well as discussing the Democratic National Convention's relationship with the media.

Referring to comments Trump said in regard to filing suits against the deal, Zucker stated that he believed there was political motivation to block progress. "I believe that it came from the highest levels of the government," he said.

Earlier this week members of Congress petitioned the Department of Justice to look into whether or not there was interference with the deal as a report surfaced alleging that Trump ordered Gary Cohn to pressure the DOJ to block the merger.

"There was absolutely no basis for the government doing what they were doing," he said. "Clearly there was a political agenda at work, and I don't think it takes being a genius to where that comes from."

Zucker's appearance at the Austin, Texas-based entertainment and tech festival came less than a week after taking on both sports and news under WarnerMedia. In discussing his lateral move within the company, Zucker said that although his "two passions in life are news and sports" CNN would remain "fundamentally about news."

Zucker equally criticized the relationship between the Trump White House and Fox News, calling the network a "propaganda network" and noting their relationship is "completely symbiotic," which is detrimental to journalism. Zucker has spoken out about Fox News before and repeated some of his concerns by adding that the network has "done a lot of damage to the political discourse" in the country.

The controversy surrounding new hire, and Trump Administration aide Sarah Isgur Flores was brought up, but laid to rest by Zucker. Noting the similarities and quick transitions for many who work in politics to and from both journalism and entertainment, he stood by the choice citing the diversity in political leanings as healthy for the industry. Before moving on, Zucker mentioned Isgur Flores taking a step back from her role "due to recent personal events."

Turning an eye towards Fox News and their upset in not being handed a political debate, Zucker was quick to bring up the fact that news is not owed anything. He talked of the news network almost as a petulant child, citing Fox News as ultimately causing, "a lot of damage to the political discourse" both during the election and now Trump's presidency.

When it came to discussing the DNC's decision to keep Fox News from hosting a primary debate for the upcoming 2020 presidential election, Zucker said implied that it was the organization's right to deny such privileges.

"There's no obligation to give one to Fox," he said, also noting that the DNC doesn't have to give one to anyone, CNN included.

The conversation also took a turn towards the future of CNN with Zucker diving into the need for innovation within their digital platform and content. After the closing off their Beam and Snapchat show last summer, there was some concern that the news giant was taking a step backwards. The point being driven home as the moderator brought up controversy over the lack of diversity brought out by the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) this week. Zucker countered with an assurance of the commitment to diversity "on and off the air," bringing the company forward into the future with a pro-truth stance.
