Today’s War Room breaks a very important story of a father losing his rights to raise his son because he refuses to allow the mother to raise the boy as if it were a girl, only it’s much worse than that. We also highlight the legal President of internet censorship. Also, Frank Cavanaugh joins the show for Full Metal Maga Hour.

A promo clip for the CBS legal drama show The Good Fight openly advocates using violence to silence political opinions.

The video features an African-American man walking through the scene of what appears to be a violent demonstration or a riot.

The man says that he previously did not advocate violence, but then saw a video of alt-right leader Richard Spencer being punched in the face and changed his mind.

“Some speech requires a more visceral response,” he states, adding that the Overton Window (the frame of acceptable opinions) is only maintained by “some enforcement”.

“So yeah, this is enforcement. It’s time to punch a few Nazis,” he adds.

The clip then cuts to demonstrators being violent while another man with a baseball bat jumps on top of a vehicle.

Given that many on the far-left think that literally everyone who disagrees with their warped view of the world is a “Nazi,” the term has lost all meaning.

This is merely a dog whistle for fringe extremist Antifa groups who have engaged in political violence against Trump supporters, people carrying American flags, and all manner of other innocent targets who were not “Nazis”.

The clip is also clearly a violation of Twitter’s rules, which state, “You may not make specific threats of violence or wish for the serious physical harm, death, or disease of an individual or group of people.”

Don’t expect it to be removed any time soon.

A high-profile Trump supporter who filmed an assault against him asked his followers to donate to a charity for the mother of the person who attacked him.

On Thursday, Walk Away founder Brandon Straka tweeted a video showing a model assaulting him as he took his camera out to film their interaction.

“At the airport w my MAGA hat on,” Straka wrote in a tweet. “This girl approached me 2 tell me I should be embarrassed. She said I’m a racist & POTUS is a racist. When I repeatedly asked why she replied, “He just is. He just is”. So I began recording & grabbed me twice. Shall we make this model very famous?”

After researching the model, Straka found she was trying to raise money for her ill mother, so instead of harassing her, he asked his followers to help donate to her mother.

“Wouldn’t it be something if every Trump supporter reading this gave a dollar to her family, w/ a message of love, signed ‘from a Trump supporter’?” Straka asked.

However, after a few hours, the GoFundMe appeared to shut down for unknown reasons.

Wikileaks founder Julian Assange’s nearly seven year stay in the Ecuadorian embassy in London has finally come to a disastrous end. After Wikileaks warned last week that Ecuador was preparing in revoke Assange’s asylum based on the claim that he violated its terms, Assange was ousted on Thursday morning, and is now in the custody of British police.

Assange

Press reports suggested that Assange was arrested at around 10 am London Time (5 am New York) in what appeared to be a “planned operation.” Though his first battle will be with the British legal system over charges of skipping bail when he sought asylum in 2012, analysts expect that he will eventually face extradition to the US, after a sealed indictment against him were accidentally revealed last year. Wikileaks accused Ecuador of illegally terminating Assange’s asylum, adding that the Ecuadorian ambassador invited police inside the embassy to take Assange into custody.

In a tweet published moments ago, Ecuadorian President Lenin Moreno said that Assange’s “discourteous and aggressive” behavior, as well as “hostile” acts committed by Wikileaks, pushed Ecuador to revoke his asylum. Moreno cited Wikileaks’ publication of sensitive Vatican documents earlier this year as the straw that finally broke the camel’s back. Members of the organization purportedly visited Assange in the embassy after the leak, apparently substantiating suspicions that Assange was still in charge of the organization.

Furthermore, Moreno declared his asylum “unsustainable and no longer viable” because Assange had repeatedly violated “clear cut provisions of the conventions of on diplomatic asylum.”

Following reports last week that the termination of Assange’s asylum was imminent, a UN envoy on torture warned Ecuador that revoking Assange’s protection would be a violation, since he could face “torture” and mistreatment should he be extradited to the US. Assange’s relationship with his host had become increasingly strained over the past year. Last year, Ecuador briefly revoked some of Assange’s “privileges”, including access to the Internet, over his ‘poor hygiene habits’, the #INAPapers about offshore money laundering, implicating the Ecuadorian president in a corruption scandal.

Edward Snowden reminded journalists of the UN’s finding in a tweet following Assange’s arrest.

The expulsion comes just a day after Wikileaks held a press conference accusing Ecuador of carrying out an “extensive spying operation” on Assange and handing intel over to the British and American authorities.

RT published video of a bearded, disheveled-looking Assange shouting at police as he was dragged out of the embassy and loaded into a van.

Footage of Assange’s arrest shows him holding a peculiar magazine that some suggested might have been an attempt to send his supporters a message.

Whatever Assange’s intentions might have been, others pointed out that the Wikileaks founder and former hacker was looking seriously vitamin D deficient…his time inside the embassy, where he was largely cut off from sunlight, have clearly taken a toll on him, as this photo from 2012, taken shortly after he arrived, clearly shows.

Journalist Cassandra Fairbanks, who had been in London to protest revocation of the asylum, tweeted what appears to be a first-hand account of the arrest.

They just dragged him out of the embassy. Cucked piece of shit @lenin just let the UK GOVERNMENT GO INSIDE THE EMBASSY TO ARREST A MAN WITH ASYLUM.

FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU

— Cassandra Fairbanks (@CassandraRules) April 11, 2019
She also pointed out that Moreno will visit Washington DC in five days.

ECUADORIAN PRESIDENT @LENIN WILL BE IN DC IN FIVE DAYS. I AWAIT YOUR VISIT YOU FUCKING MONSTER

— Cassandra Fairbanks (@CassandraRules) April 11, 2019
Scotland Yard has confirmed that Assange is in custody.

Home Secretary Sajid Javid thanked Ecuador for its cooperation, suggesting that pressure from the British government was also a factor in Ecuador’s decision to revoke asylum.

While Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt thanked Ecuador and said Assange was “no hero” and that “no one is above the law.”

Foreign office minister Alan Duncan has issued a statement, calling the arrest “absolutely right” and adding that the UK courts will “deicde what happens next.”

“It is absolutely right that Assange will face justice in the proper way in the UK. It is for the courts to decide what happens next. We are very grateful to the government of Ecuador under President Moreno for the action they have taken.”

Infowars’ Kaitlin Bennett asks Trump supporters how they feel when wearing a MAGA hat in public.

“Today’s events follow extensive dialogue between our two countries. I look forward to a strong bilateral relationship between the UK and Ecuador in the years ahead.”

A spokeswoman for Russia’s foreign ministry denounced the arrest as ‘the hand of democracy squeezing the throat of freedom’.

With Assange facing a complicated, Continent-spanning legal fight, Wikileaks is soliciting donations for its ‘defense fund’ on Twitter.

They also accused the CIA of orchestrating his arrest.

Assange’s arrest marks the end of an era, and the ignominious close of a nearly decade-long struggle. Much has yet to be determined, including this.

Amid the chaos…a new hashtag has been born #FreeAssange.

One month after the Democratic National Committee declared it would not partner with Fox News for its presidential primary debates, leading candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders announced he would participate in an April 15 Fox News town hall. Those on the left who don’t want Fox to be treated as a legitimate news outlet quickly voiced their disapproval.

Carolyn Fiddler, communications director of Daily Kos, which organized a successful petition calling for the DNC to deny Fox’s requests to host presidential debates, told the Associated Press, “I don’t know why he would lend his considerable presence to a network that routinely pushes sexist and racist tropes about progressives and his supporters.” Katherine Krueger, managing editor of the progressive Splinter News  — who likes Sanders because he makes “the right people irrationally angry” — urged him to reconsider: “The ones who are already tuned into Fox News when that town hall starts aren’t going to move an inch on this pinko socialist.”

Sanders is correct to ignore the naysayers, though perhaps not for the reasons he’s offered.Defending his decision on “The Daily Show,” Sanders said going on Fox News will help flip Donald Trump voters: “I think it is important to talk to those people and say, ‘You know what? I know that many of you voted for Donald Trump, but he lied to you. He told you, for example, he was going to provide health care to all people; now he wants to throw 30 million people off the health care that they had. He told you that he was going to give tax reform that would not benefit the wealthy; 83% of the benefits go to the top 1%.’ I think it is important to talk to Trump supporters and explain to them to what degree he has betrayed the working class of this country and lied during his campaign.”

This is pretty naïve, if not delusional. Though Sanders is correct that the president has, sporadically and inconsistently, tacked left on health care and taxes, Trump’s signature issue has always been restricting immigration. Sanders won’t be saying anything on Fox that will change the average Trump voter’s mind on that score.

Furthermore, as the shift toward Democrats in the 2018 House election indicates, anyone who voted for Trump on the grounds that he would expand access to health care and slap new taxes on the wealthy doesn’t need Bernie Sanders to inform them that didn’t happen.

Sanders’ youngest rival, South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg, had a somewhat more plausible argument for appearing on Fox News himself: “There are so many viewers who may never hear what our party has to say at all, if we’re never going on [Fox News] and explaining what we believe.” This may seem fruitless, if you assume that every Fox viewer is an immovable, blindly loyal right-wing Republican. But in a 2014 study of media consumption by the Pew Research Center, Fox was the third-most popular news source among people with “mixed” ideological views, and for those “mostly liberal,” it came in fourth.

Granted, that doesn’t translate into big portions of the Fox audience. Only 8% of the “mixed” audience and 5% of the “mostly liberal” audience cited Fox as their main news source. Still, these numbers are not zero. Considering that Democrats would have won the White House in 2016 if they flipped 80,000 votes in three Rust Belt states, they can’t be picky about where they go to hunt down hard-to-reach swing voters.

But while going out of one’s way to reach those voters for the general election makes sense, the Fox News audience is not a treasure-trove of voters that Democrats need to win the presidential primary. So what’s the point of going on Fox at this stage of the process?

The answer is: Democratic primary voters should get the opportunity to see how their candidates deal with questions from a conservative perspective, even if they are loaded with unfair right-wing talking points.

After all, the eventual nominee is not going to run in a vacuum. She or he will face plenty of sharp attacks from the right, and how well Democrats respond says a lot about how viable they would be in November 2020.

In criticizing Sanders’ decision, Splinter News’ Krueger said, “I’m willing to bet serious money that this ends up being a whole bunch of pointed questions about the Green New Deal, about why Sanders wants to take away the private insurance we all love so much, and about some newspaper column he wrote decades ago, with a question about the deficit thrown in for good measure.”

We should hope so! If Sanders doesn’t have good responses to pointed questions about his democratic socialist agenda, maybe his agenda isn’t ready for prime time. If he does, then he has an even stronger case to make why he should be the nominee and why his agenda should be enacted.

The questions for Sanders will likely be pointed, but not nasty. The moderators for town hall won’t be Trump boosters Sean Hannity and Tucker Carlson; they will be straight-news anchors Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum. As Sanders reminded “The Daily Show” viewers, he did a Fox News town hall in 2016 with Baier, who “did it straightforwardly. Believe me, we went over the ground rules beforehand and they kept their word.”

That town hall, which was coupled with one for Hillary Clinton, made news because — unlike in the 2016 Democratic debates to date — Baier asked a question about abortion. And it was a question that reflected the interests of socially conservative Fox News viewers: “Can you name a single circumstance at any point in a pregnancy in which you would be okay with abortion being illegal?” After Sanders did not name one, Baier followed up by suggesting “there are some Democrats who say after five months, with the exception of the life of the mother or the health of the baby, that perhaps that’s something to look at.”

This was a heavily slanted phrasing of the question. Democrats weren’t the ones pushing constitutionally questionable abortion bans after 20 weeks, without any exemptions for the health of the mother. Republicans were. To assign that view to “some Democrats” makes the pro-choice position seem extreme.

But guess what? Candidates can be asked questions by journalists, and even voters, with unfair wording. You may not believe this, but sometimes a candidate’s opponent levels attacks in an unfair manner. Politics is not always fair! A strong presidential contender needs the skills to turn such questions and attacks to his or her advantage. What better way for a Democratic candidate to show off those skills by tackling, head-on, questions with a conservative skew?

Democrats may not want to legitimize Fox News. But no amount of shunning is going to make it go away. The Democratic nominee will have to function in a world in which Fox exists and conservative talking points are well amplified. Keeping the Democratic presidential candidates coddled in a partisan cocoon during the primary is not going to prepare the eventual primary winner for what is to come.

Hours after it was reported President Donald Trump intends to nominate former Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain for a seat on the Federal Reserve Board, Sen. Mitt Romney, R-Utah, raised issue with it.

“I doubt that will be a nomination. But if it were a nomination, you can bet [what] the interest rates he would be pushing for,” Romney told Politico.

“If Herman Cain were on the Fed, you’d know the interest rate would soon be 9-9-9.”

Romney was referring to Cain’s proposal from his 2012 presidential campaign that would erase all existing taxes and implement a 9 percent personal income tax, a 9 percent federal sales tax, and a 9 percent corporate tax.

Cain previously served as chair of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City from 1995-1996. He also worked as the chairman and CEO of Godfather’s Pizza from 1986-1996.

Bloomberg reported earlier Thursday that Trump plans to nominate Cain and Stephen Moore, a visiting fellow at the Heritage Foundation, for two open Federal Reserve Board seats. Both men are Trump supporters.

Trump has repeatedly attacked Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell for raising interest rates, and Bloomberg News reported in December that Trump had even discussed firing him. One way the president can directly influence monetary policy is through nominations to the Fed board, though anyone he picks must be confirmed by the Senate.

Material from Bloomberg was used in this report.

CNN host Christiane Amanpour suggested that the anti-Hillary Clinton “lock her up” chant was “hate speech” and that the federal government should have “shut down” Trump supporters who uttered it.

Yes, really.

During her interview with former FBI director James Comey, Amanpour bizarrely asked if the FBI itself should have silenced Trump supporters over the viral chant.

“Lock her up was a feature of the 2016 Trump campaign – do you in retrospect wish that people like yourself, the head of the FBI, the people in charge of law and order had shut down that language – that it was dangerous, potentially it could have created violence, that it’s kind of hate speech – should that have been allowed?” asked Amanpour.

Even Comey, clearly no fan of Trump, said that it was not government’s role to police free speech.

Apparently, Amanpour doesn’t understand the basic principles of the First Amendment.

Even the Supreme Court has ruled that “hate speech” is part of the First Amendment, not that chanting “lock her up” comes anywhere near it.

This kind of ghoulish, authoritarian rhetoric wouldn’t look out of place in an actual dictatorship.

But then again, Amanpour does work for CNN, where Trump Derangement Syndrome is a requirement for keeping her job.

It’s no surprise that Amanpour rushed to Hillary’s defense – the two are friends and the CNN host has helped her with numerous softball interviews over the years.
